The best thing about having this blog is going to be that I'll be able to jot down quick little stories and not have to try to remember details weeks later.
Cute story #1 (maybe Tuesday night?): Eric put the boys down for bed and asked them what books they wanted to have in bed with them. Ryan requested "Gah," the religious-baby book Eric had just finished reading. So Eric handed him the book about "Gah," and Ry settled down onto his mattress, lying on his back, and flipped through pages, softly speaking, "Mama ... Dada ... Mah ... Ryee ... Ah-bee ... Emma ... Bee-bee ... Boo-boo ... " Eric suddenly realized Ryan was saying the "God bless" prayer to himself while he read the book about God.
Cuter story #2: Last night we took the boys to the DuPage County Fair. It was AWESOME. The boys loved seeing the animals (okay, not Ryan with sheep. He fears sheep. But you can't blame him - these sheep were dressed like Klansmen or hooded executioners or something) and riding the little tractors. They also seemed to enjoy corn dogs. ;) They rode ponies, and the difference between last fall and now on the ponies is incredible - they didn't even need us to hold them on. (Of course we still walked next to them.)
Our only sad moment was when Matthew stuck his hand into the duck cage at the petting zoo. Obviously the duck showed his disapproval of Matt's decision. Hysterical screaming ensued, but luckily Matt was charmed enough by the piglets (I want a pig!) that he calmed down quickly.
